Once the Ghent area, get (or remain) on the E17 and take\u00a0<b>exit 9 &#8211; Gent Centrum<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Make it easy for yourself and use an up-to-date GPS (like Waze), Ghent by car is a maze of One Direction (not the band) streets and they will happily fine you with automatic cameras if you take a wrong way.<\/p>\n<p>Parking your car in Ghent can be tricky and is definitely not free. From those parking lots, you can hop on public transportation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>P+R Parking Gentbrugge\n<ul>\n<li>approximate address: Land van Rodelaan 9, 9050 Gentbrugge (E17 &#8211; exit 10)<\/li>\n<li>Nearest stop:\u00a0<b>Stelplaats<\/b>\u00a0(Tram 1, 4, 21, 22, 24 and Bus 4)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>P+R Parking Oostakker\n<ul>\n<li>approximate address: Antwerpsesteenweg 938, 9040 Ghent (R4 &#8211; exit 3)<\/li>\n<li>Nearest stop:\u00a0<b>Sint-Amandsberg P+R Oostakker<\/b>\u00a0(Bus 17, 18)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>P+R Parking Flanders Expo\n<ul>\n<li>located on Flanders Expo Ghent (E40 &#8211; exit 14)<\/li>\n<li>Only open when no events are scheduled on site<\/li>\n<li>Nearest stop:\u00a0<b>Sint-Denijs-Westrem Flanders Expo<\/b>\u00a0(Tram 1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More info on the P+R Parking lots on the website of Ghent:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stad.gent\/ghent-international\/mobility-ghent\/parking-ghent\/park-and-rides\" class=\"broken_link\">https:\/\/stad.gent\/ghent-international\/mobility-ghent\/parking-ghent\/park-and-rides\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"By_taxi\" class=\"mw-headline\">By taxi<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Getting a cab from the airport to Ghent is definitely not a good idea, unless you are willing to spend more than 100 Euro on it.<\/p>\n<p>General taxi numbers are: 09 222 22 22 or 09 333 33 33.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"By_Public_Transport\" class=\"mw-headline\">By Public Transport<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve arrived in Ghent-Sint-Pieters by train, you can either take a good walk (the venue is a little over 2 km away from the station), or you take tram 1 direction Evergem. I think it is the 6th (Gent Korte Meer) or the 7th (Gent Korenmarkt) stop, but don&#8217;t hesitate to ask fellow tram passengers to tell you where to get off.<\/p>\n<p>The following bus and tram lines have stops in (more or less) close vicinity of the venue:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Tram: 1, 4, 24, 21, 22<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Bus: 3, 4, 17, 18, 38, 39, N1, N3<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The nearest stops are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Korenmarkt<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Korte Meer<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Vogelmarkt<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From there, you&#8217;re a mere 5 minutes walk away from the con.<\/p>\n<p>More information and schedules can be found on\u00a0<a class=\"external free\" href=\"http:\/\/www.delijn.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.delijn.be<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"By_train\" class=\"mw-headline\">By train<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Getting to Ghent by train is piece of cake. Once you have arrived at the airport in Brussels, take the train from the airport to any major Brussels train station (North, Central or South). From any of these stations about three trains an hour ride to Ghent (usually direction Ostend, or Knokke, or De Panne). It takes you about 40 minutes to get to Ghent-Sint-Pieters, which is Ghent&#8217;s main train station.<\/p>\n<p>Trains between Antwerp and Ghent also run frequently (at least 2 per hour).<\/p>\n<p>Online ticketing and more information on train schedules (and delays) is available on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"external free broken_link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nmbs.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.nmbs.be<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external free\" href=\"http:\/\/www\/railtime.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www\/railtime.be<\/a>\u00a0(incl. delays)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From the Gent Sint-Pieters station, you can continue your journey by taxi, or take the following means of public transportation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tram 1 or 4<\/li>\n<li>Bus 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Or you can walk for 30mins, if you feel up to it&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"By_plane\" class=\"mw-headline\">By plane<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Our National Airport is located near Brussels at Zaventem. For more info, check\u00a0<a class=\"external free broken_link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.brusselsairport.be\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.brusselsairport.be\/en\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you book your airline tickets\u00a0<b>make sure you head for Brussels National Airport (Zaventem)<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>not<\/i>\u00a0for the deceptively-named Brussels North or Brussels South, neither of which are even all that close to Brussels (but in Antwerp and Charleroi, respectively.)<\/p>\n<p><b>Check\u00a0<a class=\"external free\" href=\"http:\/\/www.checkfelix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.checkfelix.com<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a class=\"external free broken_link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.expedia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.expedia.com<\/a>\u00a0to find the cheapest flight.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The easiest way to reach Ghent from the airport would be by train (basement level -1 at the airport). If you are lucky, you can catch a direct train to\u00a0<b>Gent Sint-Pieters<\/b>. On weekdays, there would be two trains per hour (destinations either\u00a0<b>Gent Sint-Pieters<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0<b>De Panne<\/b>), during the weekend you&#8217;d only have one direct train per hour to\u00a0<b>Gent Sint-Pieters<\/b>).<\/p>\n<p>Another option is to take a train headed towards Brussels (<b>Qu\u00e9vy, Qui\u00e9vrain, Brussel Zuid,&#8230;<\/b>) and get a connecting train in\u00a0<b>Bruxelles Nord\/Brussel Noord<\/b>).
