The Aula in Ghent is going through some renovations and we were forced to look for a new location for the next coming year(s).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While the format of BruCON is pretty straight-forward, our location and venue requirements were not (or at least so it seems \ud83d\ude09). Additionally, over the years there were some learnings which we wanted to change for a while but we just couldn\u2019t due to the limitations of the venue. All of this was packed in a list of requirements leading up to a hunt to search for the perfect spot to host our training and conference, one that truly embodies the BruCON spirit #HackingForBeer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We started by reviewing venues in Ghent and moved on to other cities to finally <strong>land in Mechelen<\/strong>, where <strong>The \u201cLamot\u201d conference center<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/lamot-mechelen.be\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"broken_link\">website<\/a>) ticked all our boxes !&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img class=\"wp-image-3026 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.brucon.org\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/02\/Lamot2_CopyrightTourismMechelenAikonProducties-1024x387.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"654\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.brucon.org\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/02\/Lamot2_CopyrightTourismMechelenAikonProducties-1024x387.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/archive.brucon.org\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/02\/Lamot2_CopyrightTourismMechelenAikonProducties-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.brucon.org\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/02\/Lamot2_CopyrightTourismMechelenAikonProducties-768x290.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.brucon.org\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/02\/Lamot2_CopyrightTourismMechelenAikonProducties.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 654px) 100vw, 654px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This former brewery (talk about the perfect match \ud83c\udf7b) has a modern look on the outside but still has an industrial feeling once you enter. We will be able to host all that makes BruCON unique and special into one single building! The format will remain the same, a <strong>single-track conference with sufficient time and place to socialize with your fellow InfoSec peeps<\/strong>. We have enough room for our village, retro-gaming and all our workshops with still a bit of space left for us to come up with some new ideas \ud83d\ude0e. The conference itself will take place on the <strong>29th and 30th of September <\/strong>and we will as ussual <strong>open the CFP\/CFT on the 1st of April<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Congratulations to Tristan Crombez (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tristantxc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@TristanTXC<\/a>), John Deprez and Raven Demeyer for being the first to crack <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.brucon.org\/2022\/2022\/01\/25\/location-crypto-challenge-brucon-0x0e-spring-virtual-training-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our crypto challenge<\/a> and finding out our new location.
